Our Training Camp trips are designed to help you achieve your goals through dedicated time on the bike. Access the island’s classic training routes right from the villa, then let our in-house sports therapist and nutritious home-cooked food handle your recovery. All you’ll need to do is ride.
Palma de Mallorca Airport
Each day starts with breakfast and a rider briefing – your chance to ensure you get what you want from the day ahead. Whether you’re looking for an interval training programme or want to work on your strength and power, we’ll use our own knowledge and network of performance coaches to build the perfect itinerary to help you achieve your goals. Tasteful rooms with private balconies overlooking our terraced garden offer the ideal setting for your post-ride recovery. Then, you’ll enjoy access to our pool, in-house sports therapy to ease your aching muscles, and regional wine and home-cooked food.
After unpacking and readying your bike, we’ll enjoy a light lunch before a spin up Puig de Santa Magdalena to loosen the legs, and take in the magnificent views of the island from its summit. The glorious switchbacks will hone your fast descents on our return, where we’ll discuss your upcoming goals, and what aspects of your riding you wish to concentrate on during your time with us.
Our first full day of training takes us through pretty villages on a fairly flat start, using intervals to increase the pace before climbing onto the Cap with an ascent up to the Mirador Es Colomer. We’ll then descend to the iconic lighthouse at Cap Formentor, before a short climb to Talaia d’Albercutx for a breath-taking view along the eastern coastline of the island. A fast and flat route brings us back to the villa.
Using Tabata training techniques to get up the prettiest climb on the island – Coll de Sa Batalla – we’ll then climb Sa Calobra, Puig Major, and enjoy the 10km descent into Soller. After lunch we’ll head out to Deia, then Valldemossa, which leads to a fast and flat section from Santa Maria del Cami back to the villa.
Depending on your departure time, we’ll devise a combination of all the training elements you’ve experienced during your stay with us, riding locally or further afield. Because of our villa’s position, many of the island’s iconic riding destinations are accessible right from the doorstep.
We have a small fleet of CEEPO road bikes available for hire that we maintain in-house, with a range of sizes available. Please let us know your preferences and we can prepare the bike for your arrival. Alternatively, we can help you to arrange your own bike hire on the island. We also have our own range of exclusively designed Milltag cycling clothing available to guests at a special price, including jerseys, bibs, shorts and gilets.
“I wasn’t sure whether it was a mistake not taking my own bike to Mallorca. Fortunately, the Ceepo bike I hired from Bespoked was great; well-maintained and light, enabling me to descend Sa Colobra with confidence and then climb back up in a great time!”
Having just returned from a second stay at David and Sarah’s lovely villa in Buger I thought it was about time to provide some feedback and praise.
David and Sarah are wonderful hosts, with a warm and welcoming but relaxed and helpful approach.
The guest rooms are stylish, comfortable and thoughtfully appointed, with comfy beds and warm powerful showers!
The villa sits in a pretty, terraced garden off a quiet road only a short walk from the centre of the village of Buger.
The location of the villa is convenient being only about half an hour’s drive from Palma airport. But more importantly, it is fantastic for cycling. It is close to quiet cycling roads and local towns such as Alcudia, Pollensa and Soller and famous climbs such as Sa Colobra are easily accessible.
My first visit was a relatively gentle affair; while David and I did some leisurely cycling, Sarah and my wife had a great time experiencing the local shops, spas and restaurants.
The latest trip was an altogether more serious undertaking, my wife not accompanying me this time as I was there to combine the Mallorca Ironman 70.3 with some serious cycling!
A fantastic week cycling in Mallorca with our fabulous hosts David & Sarah.
