Each day starts with breakfast and a rider briefing – your chance to ensure you get what you want from the day ahead. There are countless off-road options on the island to suit all riding styles and abilities, including many that can’t be found without a little local knowledge. We can suggest a number of itineraries and destinations, so all you have to do is decide how long you want to ride. Tasteful rooms with private balconies overlooking our terraced garden offer the ideal setting for unwinding after a day on the bike. Then, you’ll enjoy access to our pool, in-house sports therapy when you need it, and regional wine and home-cooked food.
After unpacking and readying your bike, we’ll enjoy a light lunch before sampling some of the local MTB trails that surround the villa. A good chance to warm up the legs, familiarise yourself with the conditions, and explore the local terrain.
We’ll ride a technical route in the Soller Valley, featuring good tracks, sections with stone steps, and plenty of other obstacles and challenges. There’s also a beautiful lunch stop that offers the chance of a swim – the perfect incentive for this tricky but immensely enjoyable day of riding.
A challenging route with a steady ascent to the Penyal d’Honor offers great views through the trees towards the Orient Valley. A technical descent with log stacks, rocks and various drop offs takes us back to the starting point.
Depending on travel plans, this easy route follows mainly trails as they snake down through a forest of pine trees and holm oaks. Amazing rock formations and views down the valley to Caimari are the reward before the return journey to the villa.
If you don’t wish to bring your own mountain bike, and want to hire a bike, we can help you to arrange this on the Island before you arrive on your holiday.
David guided / accompanied me on four days of cycling. As well as being great company he is very knowledgeable about cycling routes on the island, the island itself, local characters and customs and all the best restaurants and cafes to visit en route! He also has some excellent hill training tricks up his sleeve (best avoided after a large lunch!).
